Seize the opportunity

Taking the step to go from working as a mid-time apprentice to being a full-time employee and starting our first real job experience can be frightening but we have to be ready to face the challenge when the opportunity presents itself.

After spending several months working as an apprentice at Pernix Solutions I have learned a lot about many things, such as time management and the importance of teamwork. This experience has helped me grow in many aspects of my personal and professional life and I know that I can succeed in this new chapter of my life. But this is not just a decision we make once, it is a challenge that we have to work on consistently and keep pushing ourselves every day when we get up.

To me, something essential to keep in mind is that we shouldn’t compare ourselves with others who have more experience, we should only compare ourselves with our version from yesterday. Realize how we have improved or how we are better than we were before. This will help us have a positive attitude and mindset, and stay away from issues that might make us feel down or slow our progress.

But most importantly, we need to keep in mind not to be scared. We might feel that we are not ready yet but if we decide to wait until we feel fully ready that time might never come. We can only find out by accepting the challenges and conquering our fears. Life’s too short not to take risks. So, when an opportunity calls you, will you answer? I know I will.
